Karnataka Minister MB Patil Meets Global Companies in Japan to Boost Investments

Karnataka Minister for Large, Medium Industries, and Infrastructure Development MB Patil recently visited Japan to meet with representatives from global companies. The goal was to discuss opportunities for enhancing infrastructure, digital solutions, and sustainability initiatives.

Meeting with Nissin Foods

Patil met with key representatives from Nissin Foods, including Ryota Kawawa, Michiko Kakuchi, and Kaya Tanii. Nissin Foods has been in India for 23 years and has seen significant growth. Patil suggested Bangalore as a hub for their expansion and offered support through food parks in Dharwad and Bijapur. The discussion also covered shifts towards e-commerce and the rise of millennials and Gen Z as key consumers.

Meeting with Hitachi

Patil also met with Bharat Kaushal, Kazuhisa Kaneko, Yushi Akiyama, Kunio Kubota, and Asami Higai from Hitachi. They discussed the importance of partnerships and leveraging existing infrastructure. Hitachi showcased their engineering products and discussed the potential of quantum computing and cybersecurity.

Meeting with Nissan

In a meeting with Joji Tagawa and Frank Torres from Nissan, the focus was on electric vehicle initiatives. Patil suggested Karnataka as a future EV export hub and discussed Nissan’s sustainability activities and advanced electric vehicle technology. The meeting also explored cooperation in hybrid car technology and the potential of Karnataka’s upcoming Exide gigafactory.

Overall, the meetings aimed to attract investments to Karnataka and foster long-term partnerships.
