Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 29: Karnataka Energy Minister KJ George laid the foundation stone for a new drainage project in the Yagachi pit area of Chikkamagaluru district. The project, covering 6.50 km, is being executed by the Chikkamagaluru Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation at a cost of INR 14.5 crores.

The project aims to prevent water pollution by managing sewage effectively and is expected to be completed in 12 months. Minister George emphasized the importance of local support for the project’s success, which will improve the local environment and sanitation.

Additionally, Minister George addressed concerns about linking Aadhaar numbers to IP set RR numbers, explaining that it is for record-keeping and to ensure efficient electricity distribution. He assured that agricultural pump sets up to 10 HP will continue to receive free electricity and that the state is committed to providing seven hours of uninterrupted power daily, even during droughts.
