Karnataka High Court Postpones Actor Darshan’s Bail Hearing

The Karnataka High Court has delayed the bail hearing for actor Darshan until October 28. The hearing, led by Justice Vishwajit Shetty, took place on Tuesday. Darshan’s lawyer, BV Nagesh, argued that the actor is suffering from severe back pain and requires surgery. Nagesh requested bail on medical grounds, emphasizing the urgency of the surgery. However, the judge asked for medical reports and set the next hearing date.

Darshan sought bail from the Karnataka High Court after being denied by a trial court. He is implicated in the Renukaswamy case, involving the murder of a 33-year-old from Chitradurga, whose remains were found in Bengaluru on June 9. Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, visited him in Ballary jail on October 18, following the civil court’s rejection of his and Pavithra Gowda’s bail plea on October 14. Both are accused in the murder case, while another accused, Deepak, was granted bail.

The 57th Magistrate Court in Bengaluru had previously postponed Darshan’s bail hearing to September 27, with Gowda’s hearing delayed to September 25. The proceedings involve Darshan Thoogudeepa, Gowda, and 11 others linked to the Renukaswamy murder case.
