Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Confident in Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Victory
Campaigning Intensifies in Maharashtra
As the Maharashtra assembly elections approach, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader DK Shivakumar expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) winning over 175 seats. He stated, “We are confident that the Congress party, Sharad Pawar ji, Uddhav Thackeray ji, all of them will win the elections and save Maharashtra.”
Shivakumar also mentioned that the opposition, Mahayuti, is imitating their policies, highlighting the Congress party’s five guarantees. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah echoed Shivakumar’s sentiments, asserting that MVA will form the government in Maharashtra. He emphasized that Karnataka has already implemented the five guarantee schemes, spending Rs 56,000 crores in the first cabinet meeting after coming to power on May 20, 2023.
Upcoming Elections
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23. In the previous 2019 elections, BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, MVA performed strongly, winning 30 out of 48 seats, while Mahayuti secured 17.
