Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava
In Bengaluru, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar spoke at the 69th Kannada Rajyotsava celebration at Kanteerava Stadium. He emphasized the goal of making Kannada the “language of life” and urged everyone to respect their motherland by hoisting the flag high. Shivakumar highlighted that it has been 50 years since the state was named Karnataka, describing the land as heaven and its language as divine.
He extended greetings for Kannada Rajyotsava on behalf of the state government and personally. Shivakumar mentioned Kuvempu’s message of Vishwamanava as a guiding light and stressed the importance of celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava in schools, colleges, and private firms. He noted that Karnataka is unique with its Naada Geethe and flag, and praised the state’s diversity and peace.
Chief Minister Siddaramiah also encouraged pride in the Kannada language, which boasts a 2,000-year history. He announced that Karnataka Day must be celebrated mandatorily and emphasized the importance of teaching Kannada. In a post, the CM urged dedication to preserving and growing Kannada, making it a daily celebration.
