Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Supports CM Siddaramaiah Amid MUDA Scam Allegations
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has declared full support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah amidst BJP’s demands for his resignation over the alleged MUDA scam. Shivakumar accused BJP and JDS of political conspiracy and stated that Siddaramaiah will not step down.
Shivakumar said, “I am the KPCC President, and Rehman Khan is the KPCC Discipline Committee head. I am telling you there is no need for the CM to resign. The BJP and JDS are hatching a political conspiracy against the CM. They are not able to digest the fact that guarantee schemes are reaching so many people. Karnataka is the largest state where Congress is in power, and the BJP can’t tolerate that. There is no question of CM resigning.”
Prime Minister Modi criticized Siddaramaiah during election rallies, but Shivakumar dismissed these attacks as political maneuvers. Modi said, “It has only been two years, and just look at the Congress government in Karnataka. The Chief Minister is facing accusations of a land scam. When he appeared in the High Court, he was dismissed. The court stated that a proper investigation is necessary in this matter.”
Siddaramaiah also confirmed he will not resign, questioning why he should when others facing allegations have not. He said, “I won’t resign; why should I resign? There are allegations on HD Kumaraswamy, did he resign? Let Kumaraswamy resign, has Modi taken the resignation of Kumaraswamy.”
