Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Clarifies US Visit and Appeals for Mahadayi Project

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has clarified that his visit to the United States is purely personal. He stated that media reports suggesting meetings with former US President Barack Obama and US Vice President Kamala Harris are incorrect. Shivakumar emphasized that the trip is not politically motivated.

In a letter to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and a post on social media platform X, Shivakumar dispelled rumors about his visit. He requested the public to refrain from speculation.

Earlier, Shivakumar urged Union Minister Pralhad Joshi to focus on securing approvals for the Mahadayi project and funds for the Upper Bhadra project. He made this appeal during a speech at his Sadashivanagar residence, responding to Joshi’s comments about the Congress government and the Valmiki Corporation scam.

Shivakumar mentioned plans to discuss the Mahadayi project with the Chief Minister and possibly call for an all-party meeting or a meeting of the Commission to strategize their efforts.
