Mangaluru (Karnataka), June 26: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar criticized Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy for questioning his contributions to Channapatna. Speaking at Bajpe airport in Mangaluru during his visit to Kukke Subramanya Swamy temple, Shivakumar stated, “I have seen Channapatna much before Kumaraswamy did. He came to politics 10 years after me. I am from Ramanagara district and I know Channapatna way better than him.”

Shivakumar highlighted his political experience, mentioning his 1985 election against HD Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy’s 1995 Lok Sabha election. He emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Channapatna, noting the 85,000 votes his party received in the Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing various issues, Shivakumar commented on the demand for additional Deputy Chief Ministers, mining permissions in Bellary, and his visit to the Kukke Subramanya Swamy temple. He also discussed the establishment of the Kukke Development Authority and the lack of hospitals in Kukke Subramanya, attributing the latter to the BJP’s inaction.

Shivakumar assured that the Congress government would support people living on forest lands and would not evict them. He also explained the recent milk price hike, citing increased costs for dairy farmers. Concluding his remarks, Shivakumar expressed hope for good rains to benefit the state and its people.
