Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar announced the inauguration of the Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation (KWIN) city. This new city aims to be a sustainable development that will positively impact the lives of its residents.
Commitment to Development
Speaking at the Banquet Hall in Vidhana Soudha, Shivakumar highlighted Bengaluru’s long-standing reputation as an intellectual city. He emphasized the need to strengthen this reputation and assured that the project would provide all necessary amenities to the people and industries.
Addressing Water Needs
Shivakumar mentioned that the project would meet the city’s drinking water needs for the next 10 years. He also noted the recent inauguration of Karnataka’s first natural gas power generation station at Yelahanka and the upcoming completion of the Cauvery 5th Stage project.
Future Aspirations
Despite a setback in securing a GIFT city, Shivakumar expressed his commitment to elevating the KWIN city to a similar level. He emphasized Karnataka’s talent and its leading position in software exports, urging the industry to support the project.
Strategic Location
KWIN City is strategically located between Dabaspet and Doddaballapur, just 45 minutes from Bengaluru Airport.
