Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar Criticizes Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy in Mandya

Mandya (Karnataka) [India], August 6: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today demanded that Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy must stop frequently reversing his statements and fulfill his promises to the people of Mandya. Addressing the Janandolana program in Mandya, he said, “Kumaraswamy has to answer the people of Mandya on his frequent U-turns about the promises he made to the people. He has to walk the talk and not just make false promises.”

Shivakumar criticized Kumaraswamy for his inconsistent statements, particularly regarding the Mekedatu project and the Cauvery water issue. He mentioned that Kumaraswamy had promised to get approval for the Mekedatu project from Modi in 5 minutes but later went back on his statement. Shivakumar also pointed out that Kumaraswamy ridiculed an all-party meeting on the Cauvery water release but attended a non-vegetarian meal in Pandavapura.

Shivakumar added that there is no strength in BJP’s and JDS’s padyatra as it is against the poor of the State. He accused the BJP and JDS of trying to destabilize the Congress government and said, “Kumaraswamy and Yediyurappa don’t have the ‘dum’ to dethrone the Congress government.” He also accused the BJP and JDS of corruption and stated that the Congress party will win 150 seats next time.
