Karnataka Congress Defends Welfare Schemes Amid Criticism

The Karnataka Congress government recently held a press conference to address concerns about its welfare schemes. Senior Congress leader HM Revanna, along with KPCC Vice President VS Ugrappa and PR Ramesh, highlighted the successful implementation of five key schemes, including the Shakti Scheme, which offers free bus travel for women. Revanna assured that these schemes would continue despite criticisms from Prime Minister Modi, who questioned their sustainability. Revanna accused the Prime Minister of spreading false information about the state’s initiatives. He emphasized that the Griha Lakshmi Scheme, providing financial support to women, is also ongoing, despite some technical delays. Revanna reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to its promises, countering Modi’s claims that Congress makes unrealistic promises during elections. Modi had criticized Congress for allegedly neglecting existing welfare schemes and misleading various groups, urging the public to be cautious of what he called “fake promises.”
