Karnataka CM Siddaramiah Responds to BJP Protests Over MUDA Scam Allegations

Mysore (Karnataka), July 11: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah has responded to protests by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over alleged scams involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The Chief Minister denied any wrongdoing, stating that the land allotment in question was carried out under the BJP government in 2021.

Speaking to reporters in Mysore, CM Siddaramiah said, ‘The BJP is protesting politically. Do they only want to do politics over everything? We too know how to resist politically.’ He further emphasized that there is no ‘scam’ in the matter, explaining that the land allotment was legal and done under the BJP’s rule.

Earlier, a complaint was filed against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah and nine others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from MUDA. The complaint, lodged by social activist Snehamayi Krishna, accuses Siddaramiah, his wife Parvathy, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, and several officials of wrongdoing. The complaint was filed at Vijayanagar Police Station in Mysore and also sent to the governor, the state chief secretary, and the principal secretary of the revenue department.

The complainant alleges that MUDA created fake documents to obtain valuable plots, raising several questions about the legality of the actions.
