Mysore (Karnataka) [India], September 29: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared on Sunday that he will not back down despite allegations regarding the MUDA scam. Speaking at an event in Ashokapuram, Mysore, he stated, “You might try to trouble me politically for a couple of months, but I will not back down. My conscience is clear, and as long as I have the people’s support, I will not be shaken.”

The Lokayukta Police has filed an FIR against Siddaramaiah and others in connection with the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment scam. The FIR includes various sections of the Indian Penal Code and mentions Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law, and others as accused. It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife in a prime location in Mysuru city.

In response, the BJP has accused the Congress party of supporting corrupt leaders and demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation. Despite the controversy, Siddaramaiah inaugurated several development projects during the event. He announced the allocation of 0.5 guntas of land each to 245 betel leaf farmers and the construction of new gyms, community halls, and commercial complexes in Doddagaradi and Chikkagaradi. The renovation of a government-model primary school was also launched.

Siddaramaiah assured the people of Ashokapuram that the government is committed to funding essential development activities. He directed district-in-charge minister HC Mahadevappa to prepare a comprehensive list of development projects. He emphasized the government’s dedication to social justice and urged the public to engage with Dr. BR Ambedkar’s teachings.

The Karnataka CM highlighted that Rs 59,000 crore had been allocated in the Karnataka budget for five guarantee schemes designed to benefit all communities. He contrasted this with the national budget, noting that Karnataka has taken a more equitable approach by reserving funds based on population.

Siddaramaiah assured that, despite opposition propaganda, these guarantee schemes will continue uninterrupted. The event was attended by Karnataka Minister HC Mahadevappa, MLA Srivatsa, MLC Dr. Timmaiah, and other dignitaries.
