Mysore (Karnataka) [India] August 7: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the notice given by the Governor regarding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case has been answered and he hopes it will be accepted. He emphasized that the government’s reply is lawful and denied exerting any influence in the allotment of the MUDA site.

CM Siddaramaiah explained that his wife was allotted an alternative site in 2021 during the BJP government. He mentioned that his wife had filed an application in 2014, claiming that MUDA had taken her land illegally, but he did not act on it at that time.

Siddaramaiah accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (Secular) of making allegations to weaken his government after their “Operation Kamala” failed. He asserted that his government has successfully implemented guarantee schemes for the poor, which the opposition cannot tolerate.

He also mentioned that the Prime Minister had doubted the feasibility of these schemes, but they have been successfully implemented, causing disappointment at the Centre.

Earlier, social activist Snehamayi Krishna filed a complaint against Siddaramaiah and nine others, alleging forgery and misuse of land to claim compensation from MUDA. The complaint includes accusations against Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathy, and his brother-in-law, Malikarjuna Swamy Devaraj. The BJP demands that the land given to the CM’s family be returned, accusing Siddaramaiah of taking land that belonged to the Dalit community.
