Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Meets Congress Leaders Amid Controversy
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar met with Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary KC Venugopal, and MP Randeep Surjewala at the AICC headquarters in Delhi.
After the meeting, Siddaramaiah explained the situation in Karnataka to the party’s high command, calling the governor’s decision to prosecute him ‘illegal’ and ‘unconstitutional.’ He expressed gratitude to the Congress leaders for their support.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao alleged a conspiracy to target Siddaramaiah and destabilize the government. This came after Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot sanctioned prosecution against Siddaramaiah in the alleged MUDA scam.
Siddaramaiah questioned the governor’s quick decision to prosecute him while delaying action against former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. A complaint was filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Siddaramaiah and others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority.
