Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Faces Investigation Over Mysuru Land Allotment
In Haveri, Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that he has been summoned by the Mysore Lokayukta regarding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). He confirmed, “Yes, Mysore Lokayukta has issued a notice regarding MUDA. I will go to Mysore Lokayukta on November 6.”
The Lokayukta initiated an inquiry following a court order on September 27 to file an FIR. The investigation focuses on allegations of illegal allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, by MUDA in Mysuru city.
Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches in Mangalore, Bengaluru, Mandya, and Mysuru related to a MUDA-linked money laundering case. The ED has summoned six MUDA employees for questioning and filed a money-laundering case against Siddaramaiah and others, applying the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The FIR names Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvathi, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju, from whom Swamy bought land later gifted to Parvathi. Siddaramaiah denies the allegations, claiming political persecution, and refuses to resign despite BJP’s demands.
