The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The case is linked to alleged money laundering involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

Congress Defends Siddaramaiah

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that Siddaramaiah will be proven innocent. He accused the ED of being used for political harassment by the Prime Minister.

FIR Filed by Lokayukta Police

On September 27, the Lokayukta Police filed an FIR against Siddaramaiah and others, including his wife and brother-in-law, for allegedly illegally allotting 14 sites in Mysuru. The FIR includes various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

BJP Demands Resignation

The BJP has demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation and called for the ED and CBI to take over the investigation. BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized Siddaramaiah and his family for allegedly misusing land and government authority.

Siddaramaiah’s Response

Siddaramaiah has denied all allegations and refused to resign. He countered by suggesting that other politicians, including HD Kumaraswamy and Prime Minister Modi, should resign over other issues.
