Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Faces Allegations Over Land Compensation
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – TJ Abraham, who filed a complaint in the MUDA case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s family, has asked the Commissioner of MUDA to cancel the 14 alternative compensatory sites given to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi B M. In a letter dated August 5, Abraham mentioned that he had already filed a complaint with the Karnataka Lokayukta Police on July 18, 2024, and provided additional information on July 25. He accused the authorities of illegal manipulations and corrupt actions in the allotment of these sites, which he claims caused a loss of Rs. 55,80,00,700 to the state.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded on Monday, stating that the MUDA case will be handled both legally and politically. He urged the withdrawal of the show cause notice issued by Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot and requested the Governor to dismiss Abraham’s complaint. Siddaramaiah accused the central government of using the Raj Bhawan to destabilize the state government, calling the Governor a puppet of the Central Government and the BJP-JDS alliance.
Earlier, social activist Snehamayi Krishna filed a complaint against Siddaramaiah and nine others, alleging that they forged documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. The complaint also accused MUDA of creating fake documents to obtain valuable plots. The BJP has demanded that the land given to Siddaramaiah’s family be returned, accusing him of taking land that belonged to the Dalit community.
