Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Confirms Recovery of Kerala Truck Driver Arjun’s Body After Landslide
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Wednesday that the government has recovered the body of Kerala truck driver Arjun, who went missing after a landslide in Shiroor, Uttara Kannada district. The landslide occurred on July 16, and Arjun’s body was found buried under the debris.
Siddaramaiah shared on X that the rescue operation faced significant challenges due to fast-flowing waters and relentless rains, making it impossible to save everyone swept away by the river. He expressed sorrow over the tragedy and the loss of lives.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Disaster Management teams successfully retrieved Arjun’s body and the truck today. Siddaramaiah confirmed that some bodies were recovered earlier, and today, they finally found the driver’s body, which had been missing for 70 days.
