Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 23: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his dissatisfaction with the Union Budget 2024, stating that the needs of Kannadigas were ignored. He announced a boycott of the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 27 as a mark of protest.

On social media, Siddaramaiah wrote, “Despite my earnest efforts in calling for an all-party MPs meeting in New Delhi to discuss Karnataka’s essential needs, the Union Budget has neglected our state’s demands.” He added that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ignored the concerns of Karnataka’s people.

Siddaramaiah also mentioned that demands for projects like Mekedatu and Mahadayi were ignored, and funds for metro and other infrastructure projects were not provided. He accused Prime Minister Modi of focusing only on states like Andhra Pradesh and Bihar to maintain his position.
