KRV Chief TA Narayana Gowda Threatens Revolt

Bengaluru, Karnataka – After Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah put the ‘Kannadiga Reservation Bill’ on hold, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) chief TA Narayana Gowda announced that if the government does not pass the bill within 15-20 days, they will revolt.

Gowda accused some IT companies of pressuring the government to stop the bill. He emphasized that KRV has been fighting for the rights of Kannadigas for 40 years, demanding 100% reservation in Groups C and D jobs and 60% in Groups A and B.

Gowda mentioned that he had met the Chief Minister twice, and Siddaramaiah had assured him that the government supports the people of Karnataka. However, Gowda claimed that IT companies threatened to leave Karnataka if the bill was tabled.

Gowda urged Siddaramaiah to implement the act for job reservation for Kannadigas in corporate and private companies without yielding to pressure. He gave the government an ultimatum of 15-20 days to take a stand for Kannadigas, warning of a revolt if they fail to do so.

Gowda also criticized Mohan Das Pai, accusing him of threatening Kannadigas and the Karnataka government. He called on Siddaramaiah to stand with the people of Karnataka, comparing him to former Chief Minister Bangarappa.

Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the bill enforcing 50% reservation for administrative posts and 75% for non-administrative posts for Kannadigas in private sector organizations has been temporarily put on hold. He mentioned that the bill would be revisited and decided upon in the coming days.

The Karnataka state cabinet had approved the bill on Monday, but it is still in the preparation stage, with a comprehensive discussion planned for the next cabinet meeting.
