Karnataka Cabinet Approves New Women’s Colleges and Major Projects

The Karnataka Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has made several significant decisions. Karnataka Minorities Welfare and Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan announced the approval of women’s pre-graduate colleges in 15 districts, including Bagalkote, Chitradurga, Bidar, Bellary, Koppal, Mysore, Bangalore, Chikkaballapur, Vijayanagar, Kalaburagi, Udupi, Vijayapur, Kolar, Davangere, and Dharwad. A total of Rs 47.76 crore will be spent on these colleges.

Additionally, Rs 80 crore will be allocated to the Kalaburagi sub-district for housing projects, with the Karnataka Housing Board overseeing the construction on 87.34 acres of land. The cabinet also approved a Rs 7,200 crore drinking water project for villages in Bidar and Kalaburagi, with funding expected from the central government.

In a press conference, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the cabinet discussed 56 issues, with 46 related to the Kalyana Karnataka region. Overall, projects worth Rs 12,692 crore were considered, including the upgrading of Bidar and Raichur to city municipalities.
