Bengaluru, Karnataka: On Tuesday, Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra called for an apology from Congress leaders after the Karnataka High Court dismissed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s petition. The petition challenged the approval given by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for an investigation into alleged illegalities by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in allotting sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife.

Vijayendra stated that Congress leaders not only questioned the legality of the Governor’s actions but also tarnished his reputation by accusing him of being a political puppet. He emphasized that the High Court’s decision validated the Governor’s actions, confirming they were based on legal and constitutional principles.

Vijayendra urged Congress leaders to publicly apologize for their unfounded allegations against the Governor, stating that such an apology would restore respect for constitutional institutions and uphold the rule of law.

Meanwhile, BJP workers protested in Hubli, demanding CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation following the High Court’s ruling. Aravind Bellad, Deputy Leader of Opposition in Karnataka, asserted that a probe would take place and that Siddaramaiah would have no choice but to resign.

Earlier, the Karnataka High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah’s petition, with Justice Nagaprasanna stating that the Governor’s sanction for prosecution did not suffer from non-application of mind. The case involves allegations that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife in Mysuru.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded by saying he is not afraid of the BJP and JD(S) conspiracy and will consult legal experts and ministers on how to proceed. He also mentioned that Congress MLAs, leaders, and workers have supported him in this fight.
