Karnataka BJP Leader Ramesh NR Files Complaint Against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge

New Delhi, India – September 27: Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ramesh NR has filed a complaint with the Karnataka Lokayukta against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and others. The complaint accuses them of land grabbing involving the Siddhartha Vihar Trust, which is reportedly linked to Kharge’s family.

BJP IT Cell Head Amit Malviya shared on social media that the trust allegedly received free land from the Congress government, raising questions about nepotism and criminal breach of trust.

FIR Filed Against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

On the same day, the Lokayukta Police filed an FIR against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others in connection with the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment scam. The FIR includes various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and names CM Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law, and others as accused.

Snehamayi Krishna, one of the complainants in the MUDA scam, has filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court seeking to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The matter is expected to be heard on September 30.

Special Court’s Order

The Special Court in Bengaluru has directed the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate the allegations against CM Siddaramaiah regarding the illegal allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to his wife by MUDA. The Lokayukta’s Mysuru district police will conduct the investigation and submit a report in three months.

Reactions and Statements

Karnataka CM’s Financial Advisor Basvaraj Rayareddi stated that there is no need for CM Siddaramaiah to resign, arguing that the inquiry is a political game and not a corruption case. CM Siddaramaiah also reiterated that he will not resign, accusing the opposition of trying to destabilize his government.

BJP leader CT Ravi commented that the Congress is scared because of corruption charges and should not fear an investigation if they are honest.

Earlier, the Karnataka government withdrew open consent for the CBI to conduct a probe in the state.
