Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 10: Karnataka BJP chief and MLA BY Vijayendra announced that the BJP will hold a massive protest in Mysore on July 12. The protest is in response to the alleged mismanagement of the Mysore Development Authority (MUDA).

Speaking at a media conference at Jagannath Bhavan in the BJP state office in Malleswar, Vijayendra stated, “BJP has taken this scam seriously. On this 12th, I, opposition leader R. Ashok, former Deputy CM Ashwathanarayan, BJP MLAs and activists will hold a massive protest in Mysore.”

Vijayendra accused the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, of shedding “crocodile tears” for the poor and demanded that the investigation of the land scam be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He claimed that the Chief Minister and his wife were involved in the scam and that the land should be allotted to the poor.

He further alleged that Siddaramaiah had given false information regarding the case and that valuable land was illegally occupied. Vijayendra demanded that the Chief Minister be held accountable and answer to the people.

Earlier in the day, a complaint was filed against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and nine others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from MUDA. The complaint, filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna, alleges wrongdoing by Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathy, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, and other officials.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi also demanded an impartial investigation into the alleged MUDA scam, which is said to be worth more than Rs 3,800 crores. He appealed to the state government to transfer the investigation to the CBI.
