Karachi Faces Surge in Street Crimes
Karachi has seen a significant rise in street crimes, with over 44,000 incidents reported from January to July this year. The majority of these crimes involve motorcycle theft, with more than 31,000 motorcycles stolen or snatched. Additionally, over 11,800 mobile phones and around 1,200 cars were taken. Despite the high number of thefts, recovery rates are low.
Recently, two people were killed in separate robbery incidents, adding to the city’s insecurity. Anis, a friend of one of the victims, filed a complaint about the incident in North Nazimabad. Another victim, Allah Dino, was shot and killed in Ayub Goth while walking home with his child.
