In Karachi, Pakistan, the law and order situation is worsening. On Tuesday, Doctor Samnreen, the wife of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Doctor Asim, was attacked by unidentified assailants in Orangi Town. The incident occurred as she was returning from an event at a girls’ college in Orangi Town’s No. 11 area. Fortunately, she was unharmed.

Police officials have started an investigation and believe the attack was an attempted robbery. Karachi has seen over 5000 crimes reported in June, according to a report by Sindh’s Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC). Despite nearly 6,000 criminals being transferred to Karachi Central Jail in the first five months of the year, street crimes continue to plague the city, with citizens being looted and killed.
