Kanishka Narayan from Muzaffarpur Wins UK Elections
Kanishka Narayan, an Indian-origin candidate, has won the UK general elections from Wales as a Labour candidate. He has strong roots in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. His uncle, Jayant Kumar, who is the director of SKJ Law College, expressed immense pride in Kanishka’s achievement, stating that he has made not just Muzaffarpur, but the entire country proud.
Kanishka, 33, was born in Muzaffarpur and studied there until the third standard. He later moved to Britain at the age of 12 and completed his higher studies at Eton Oxford, the same college where India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, graduated from. Before entering politics, Kanishka worked in civil service but resigned to contest in the elections.
Celebrations erupted at Kanishka’s Muzaffarpur residence in Sandho Apartment, Damuchak, following his victory. Jayant Kumar mentioned that they have been receiving numerous congratulatory messages and calls from friends and family. Kanishka’s grandparents, Krishna Kumar and Veena Devi, originally hailed from Saundho in Vaishali district and settled in Muzaffarpur many years ago. Krishna Kumar was the chairman of Muzaffarpur District Board and the founder of SKJ Law College.
Kanishka’s father, Santosh Kumar, and mother, Chetna Sinha, moved to Delhi after completing their studies at SKJ Law College. Kanishka briefly studied at APJ School in Delhi’s Saket before moving to Britain.
