Kamala Harris Criticizes Donald Trump’s Economic Record in Wisconsin
In Wisconsin, a key battleground state, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump intensified their presidential campaigns. Harris focused on Trump’s economic performance, particularly his management of manufacturing jobs. She claimed that nearly 200,000 manufacturing jobs were lost during Trump’s presidency before the Covid-19 pandemic, with significant losses in Wisconsin. Harris labeled Trump as “one of the biggest losers of manufacturing jobs in American history.”
Harris stated, “He (Donald Trump) said that he was the only one who could bring back America’s manufacturing jobs. America lost nearly 200,000 manufacturing jobs when Trump was president, including thousands of jobs right here in Wisconsin, and let the facts be clear, those losses started before the pandemic. That makes Donald Trump one of the biggest losers of manufacturing jobs in American history.”
She also criticized Trump’s record with the auto industry, noting that despite his promises, six auto plants closed during his presidency. Harris remarked, “So Wisconsin, you know all about Donald Trump’s big empty promises.”
Harris further accused Trump of failing to stop offshoring and criticized his tax cuts for corporations that moved 200,000 American jobs overseas. She highlighted Trump’s unfulfilled promise regarding Foxconn’s investment in Wisconsin, calling it “yet another empty promise.”
