Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, held a review meeting to discuss the 100-day action plan for the Department of Posts. Under his leadership, the Department aims to enhance service delivery and efficiency through several key initiatives.

Key Initiatives

Dak Chaupals

The Department will organize 5,000 Dak Chaupals across the country in 100 days. These events aim to bring essential government and citizen-centric services directly to rural areas, improving accessibility and convenience.

Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra Scheme

This scheme will support small-scale exporters by providing services like documentation assistance, market information, bar-coded label printing, and paperless customs clearance. It aligns with the ‘One District–One Product’ initiative to promote local products and boost rural development.

Geo-Coded Addressing System

The Department is working on a standardized, geo-coded addressing system to simplify addressing solutions for public and private services. This system will enhance public service delivery, emergency response, and logistics efficiency.

Partnerships

An MoU was signed with the National Institute of Urban Affairs to establish a knowledge support partnership. Another MoU is in progress with the National Remote Sensing Centre of ISRO for technical support. These partnerships aim to leverage advanced technologies for precise mapping and addressing solutions.

Through these initiatives, the Department of Posts aims to significantly improve the quality of life for citizens and foster inclusive growth and development across the country. Under Jyotiraditya Scindia’s guidance, the Department is set to achieve remarkable milestones in the first 100 days, enhancing accessibility and efficiency to catalyze socio-economic progress.
