JUI-F Leader Hafiz Hamdullah Says No to Joining Shehbaz Sharif’s Government
Hafiz Hamdullah, a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), firmly denied any plans for his party to join the Shehbaz Sharif-led coalition government. He emphasized that JUI-F will remain in opposition, citing a loss of public trust in the government and a compromised parliament.
Hamdullah stated that joining the government would be political suicide for JUI-F. He stressed that the party’s struggle is for an independent parliament free from external influences and that they believe in people’s politics, not in relying on power.
On August 30, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad, expressing his desire to work together again. However, Maulana Fazlur Rehman reiterated that their stance remains unchanged, stating, “We are where we were in the past; you have changed your path.”
