JP Nadda Visits Raghunath Temple in Jammu

Welcomed by Trustee Martand Singh

JP Nadda, the chief of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), visited the Raghunath Temple in Jammu. He was welcomed by Martand Singh, Trustee of Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust. Nadda, who is from Himachal Pradesh, was praised for his understanding of local culture and traditions.

Earlier in the day, Nadda and Jitendra Singh offered prayers at the temple. Martand Singh, grandson of Dr. Karan Singh, expressed happiness over Nadda’s visit, stating it was a joyous day for the people of Jammu.

During his visit, Nadda also paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his birth anniversary. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, responsible for poll-bound Jammu and Kashmir, mentioned that the BJP is reviewing and discussing upcoming programs in the Union Territory.

Jammu and Kashmir is expected to hold its first Assembly election in September, following the Supreme Court’s timeline after the region’s special status was revoked in 2019. The last Assembly election was held in 2014. The BJP-led government scrapped Article 370 in August 2019, bifurcating the state into two union territories. There have been calls for early elections and the restoration of statehood.
