The workshop focused on the upcoming organizational elections, which have been in preparation for over two months. The ongoing membership drive, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 2, 2024, was also a key topic of discussion. The meeting lasted over seven hours and included notable figures such as National Returning Officer K Laxman and National General Secretary BL Santosh.

Bhupender Chaudhary, BJP UP state president, shared insights with the media, emphasizing the workshop’s role in planning elections from the booth level to the national level.

UP By-Election Preparations

Chaudhary also mentioned the finalization of candidate names for the UP assembly by-elections by the BJP’s State Core Committee. He expressed confidence that the Central Election Committee would approve these names, and the party would soon announce its candidates.

Membership Drive Success

The workshop highlighted the success of the membership drive, which has added over 9 crore new members to the party. JP Nadda, who has led the party since January 2020, had his term extended to oversee the election of his successor, as per the party’s constitution.
