JP Nadda Criticizes Himachal Pradesh’s Toilet Tax
Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda addressed a rally in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, where he highlighted the state’s achievement of becoming 100% free from open defecation. However, he expressed surprise over the Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s decision to impose a tax on toilet seats, questioning the Congress government’s actions.

Nadda praised the people of Himachal for helping the BJP win all four Lok Sabha seats in the state during the 2024 elections. He thanked the citizens for their support, which contributed to the BJP’s presence in 18 states, with 13 having BJP-led governments.
Anurag Thakur’s Concerns on State Debt
Union Minister and BJP leader Anurag Thakur, also present at the rally, criticized the Congress government for leading Himachal Pradesh towards financial instability. He claimed that the state had taken a loan of Rs 28,000 crore in the last 18 months and warned that the debt could rise to Rs 1,50,000 crore in three years.
