JP Nadda Criticizes Congress-NC Alliance Over Article 370 in Jammu

Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda criticized the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance for their stance on Article 370, questioning if they were ‘Pakistan’s agents.’ Nadda’s remarks came after Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif stated that Pakistan and the NC-Congress alliance were aligned on restoring Article 370.

Nadda urged people to vote, emphasizing the importance of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections for regional stability and the country’s strength. He noted a 60% voter turnout in the first phase, a significant increase from previous elections.

At an event in Jammu, Nadda said, ‘In Kashmir’s first phase of voting, there was 60 per cent voter turnout… unlike earlier when polling was only 8 per cent and the army had to conduct it. Pakistan’s Defence Minister says Congress-NC’s stance aligns with theirs. Does that mean you’re Pakistan’s agent? This election is about Jammu and Kashmir’s stability and strengthening the country.’

Nadda criticized the Congress-NC party, stating that while the BJP focuses on development, the NC-Congress talks about negotiating with Pakistan. He also mentioned that declared terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir are eliminated within a week.

He praised PM Modi’s leadership, stating that India has surged ahead of Pakistan and is no longer mentioned alongside it in international discussions. ‘When we talk about international politics and language, no one mentions India alongside Pakistan anymore. India is India, and Pakistan is left behind where it was earlier,’ Nadda said.

Nadda also held a roadshow in Jammu as the last two phases of voting in Assembly elections remain. The first phase of voting was completed on September 18 with a 61.13% turnout across 24 constituencies in seven districts. The second and third phases will be held on September 25 and October 5, respectively, with vote counting on October 8.
