JP Nadda Criticizes Congress at BJP Meeting in Lucknow

In a significant BJP Working Committee meeting held in Lucknow, National President JP Nadda criticized the Congress party, calling it a ‘parasitic party’ that relies on regional parties for support. He emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not only the party of the present but also of the future, highlighting the party’s widespread presence across India.

JP Nadda stated, ‘The responsibility that is on our shoulders is not seasonal, that responsibility is on our shoulders forever. The 2024 election reflects the fact that if the people of India have supported us for the third consecutive time in 2024 under the leadership of Modi Ji, then it is for a developed India. This future is in our hands. It is our responsibility to handle it carefully.’

He pointed out that the BJP is the only party with a pan-India presence, unlike other parties that are regionally confined. Nadda also mentioned the party’s growth from being mocked in 1984 for having only two members to now ruling the country under the leadership of Atal Ji and Modi Ji.

Addressing the Congress party’s performance, Nadda said, ‘I want to ask Congress that the number of MPs who won in all three elections did not even cross our number of 240. After three elections, they could not cross the figure of 100. Congress party has been zero in 13 states. In Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, where there was a direct fight with Congress on 64 seats, only 2 seats went to Congress and 62 seats went to BJP. Where Congress fought alone, its strike rate was 26 percent and where it fought with other parties, its strike rate was 50 percent. That means Congress has become a parasitic party today. It is not standing on its own feet; it is standing on the votes of others. Today this party is standing on crutches.’

Discussing the achievements of Uttar Pradesh, Nadda said, ‘Today, UP has become the second largest economy of the country. There was a time when it would take morning till evening to reach Bulandshahr from Delhi. Today, there are floods of motorways in UP; elevated roads, underpasses, bypasses, medical colleges, and AIIMS were built in 10 years. Today, I can say with pride that world-class health systems have been created in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Have you ever thought of these things before 2017?’

The meeting, held at the Ambedkar Auditorium of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Law University, was attended by Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CMs Brajesh Pathak and KP Maurya, and other ministers and workers. The main agenda included passing political proposals, paying tributes to party workers who have passed away, and discussing the upcoming by-elections and future roadmap following the election defeat.
