Jitendra Awhad Defends Sharad Pawar Against Amit Shah’s Corruption Claims

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Jitendra Awhad has responded to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks accusing Sharad Pawar of being the ‘mastermind of corruption.’ Awhad suggested that Shah should reflect on his own party’s actions, stating, ‘If you look in the mirror, the faces of all the people who attended your conference and joined the cabinet will be clear.’

Earlier, Amit Shah, while addressing the Maharashtra BJP conclave in Pune, accused Sharad Pawar of ‘institutionalising’ corruption. Shah said, ‘The biggest mastermind of corruption in Indian politics is Sharad Pawar and I have no confusion about that.’

Awhad also defended Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray against Shah’s remarks. Shah had called the Maha Vikas Aghadi an ‘Aurangzeb fan club’ and questioned Thackeray’s ability to ensure India’s security. Awhad highlighted Thackeray’s family’s Hindutva legacy, stating, ‘If someone has taken care of and nurtured what is called Hindutva, then it is his grandfather, Prabodhankar Thackeray.’
