Jitan Ram Manjhi Celebrates Industrial Corridor Development in Gaya

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi announced a significant development for Gaya, fulfilling his pre-election promise to establish an industrial corridor. He expressed his joy on social media, stating, “The happiest day for a politician is when the promises made during elections start getting implemented meaningfully.”

The announcement follows an agreement between the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), the Bihar government, and the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) to create an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) in Gaya. This project is part of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) and aligns with the state’s ‘Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi’ vision.

The IMC Gaya project will be located 39 kilometers south of Gaya International Airport, covering 1,670 acres. It is expected to attract Rs 16,524 crore in investments and create approximately 109,000 jobs. The cluster will support industries like building materials, agri-food processing, leather goods, garments, and medical equipment.

Gaya’s strategic location offers excellent connectivity with NH-19 and NH-22, as well as Gaya Junction and the upcoming New Paharpur Railway Station. The cluster will feature a 29.89 km internal road network and ‘Plug n Play’ infrastructure, including treatment plants and green landscaping, ensuring environmental compliance.
