Jio Announces New Unlimited Plans and Price Hikes Starting July 3
Telecom service provider Jio has announced new unlimited plans that will be available from July 3, 2024. The company has revised the prices of its existing plans, with the monthly plan of Rs 155 now costing Rs 189, and the annual plan of Rs 2999 now costing Rs 3599. Jio will offer unlimited 5G data on plans of 2GB/day and above.
Jio stated that the new plans can be opted from all existing touchpoints and channels. The company emphasized that Jio customers will continue to benefit from the fastest-ever 5G rollout, with nearly 85% of the total 5G cells in India being operated by Jio.
Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, said that the introduction of new plans is aimed at furthering industry innovation and driving sustainable growth through investments in 5G and AI technology. He highlighted Jio’s commitment to providing high-quality, affordable internet and investing in India’s digital future.
Jio also introduced two new applications: JioSafe, a quantum-secure communication app, and JioTranslate, an AI-powered multi-lingual communication app. Both apps will be free for Jio users for a year.
JioBharat/JioPhone users will continue to enjoy existing tariffs, ensuring that 250 million feature phone users in India can access digital services.
