Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Announces Candidates for Upcoming Elections
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections, which will take place in two phases on November 13 and 20. The announcement was made on Friday, with JMM General Secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey confirming the details.
Key Candidates Announced
Former state BJP vice president Lois Marandi will contest from the Jama constituency, a seat reserved for the scheduled caste, located 16 km from Dumka. Other candidates include Ganesh Mehli from Saraikela and Ramsurya Munda from Khunti.
Chief Minister’s Remarks
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who has filed his nomination for the Barhait Assembly constituency, commented on the presence of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, referring to him as a ‘Pravaasi’ CM. Soren noted that many leaders from the opposing party are present temporarily for the elections.
Kalpana Soren’s Nomination
Kalpana Soren, JMM leader and wife of Hemant Soren, has filed her nomination for the Gandey Assembly constituency, which she currently represents.

The JMM had previously released its first list of 35 candidates on October 23. The election results will be announced on November 23.
