Jharkhand Minister Banna Gupta Comments on Champai Soren’s Future
On Monday, Jharkhand Minister and Congress leader Banna Gupta addressed speculation about former Chief Minister Champai Soren possibly joining another party. Gupta stated that this is an internal matter of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and that the INDIA alliance has no comment on it.
Gupta expressed confidence in Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, calling him a good leader who understands politics well. He emphasized that he did not want to comment further on the issue.
Earlier, Champai Soren shared his bitter experiences within the JMM during his tenure as Chief Minister. He felt insulted and mentioned that all options are open for him until the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly polls. Soren cited instances where he was not allowed to convene meetings and was asked to resign suddenly.
In a social media post, Soren highlighted his commitment to public concerns and his advocacy for workers and the Jharkhand movement. He also mentioned that his programs were canceled without his consent, questioning the democratic process.
BJP leader Pratul Shah Deo criticized the JMM’s treatment of Soren, calling it shocking and appalling. JMM leader Manoj Pandey, however, doubted that Soren would join the BJP, describing it as a ‘sinking ship.’ Pandey added that if Soren leaves, it would be self-sabotage and that the party would respond accordingly.
