Jharkhand Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon Talks About Congress-JMM Alliance
Jharkhand Finance Minister and Congress leader Rameshwar Oraon discussed the benefits of continuing the alliance between Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for the upcoming assembly elections. He emphasized that both parties would benefit from the alliance.
Speaking about the seat-sharing arrangement, Oraon said, “There will be no benefit in increasing or decreasing the seats. If the agreement that was made between the two parties (JMM-Congress) last time is successful, then both parties will benefit… We do not know yet how many seats will be given to RJD… We will seat and have a discussion on seat sharing. We will see where we are strong and weak, and accordingly we will decide where we will contest and where they will contest. And a respectable agreement is likely to take place between us.”
Addressing allegations of financial irregularities, Oraon stated, “Allegations should be made by giving examples… We are not looting money. We are running the government with honesty. We are spending for the welfare of the people…”
Earlier, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Soren described the meeting as a “courtesy meet” and mentioned that both parties will soon start discussions regarding the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. He said, “I was planning to meet them for a long time. It was a courtesy meeting. We will now have discussions regarding the Jharkhand Assembly Elections. Everything else is fine and peaceful. We will run the government with full strength and in the future win the elections too.”
