Jharkhand Elections: Hemant Soren and PM Modi Rally for Votes
As the assembly elections approach in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed confidence in the INDIA alliance’s victory. Speaking at a rally in Hatia, Soren criticized the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for dividing society by religion and class. Modi criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for disrespecting former Chief Minister Champai Soren and alleged that the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance has endangered Jharkhand’s identity. He expressed confidence in BJP’s return to power.
The elections for Jharkhand’s 81-seat assembly will occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23. The INDIA alliance, comprising JMM, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and left parties, will contest together, with JMM contesting 43 seats, Congress 30, and the remaining by RJD and left parties.
