Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Responds to PM Modi’s Comments on Congress Promises

In Khunti, Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks about the Congress party’s unfulfilled promises. Soren emphasized that his party, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), along with Congress, delivers more than they promise. He stated, “Only those things should be promised that can be fulfilled. We are people who do more than we promise.”

The JMM and Congress are collaborating for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, contesting 70 out of 81 seats as part of the INDIA bloc. The elections are scheduled for November 13 and 20, with results on November 23.

The controversy began when PM Modi accused Congress of making empty promises in his tweets, citing issues in Congress-ruled states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. He claimed Congress’s unfulfilled promises mislead the poor, youth, farmers, and women, urging the public to be cautious of what he called the “Congress-sponsored culture of fake promises.”

In response, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP government, describing it with adjectives like “Lies, Deceit, Fakery, Loot & Publicity.” He questioned the central government’s performance on various issues, including unemployment, inflation, and taxation.
