Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren Accuses BJP of Targeting Hemant Soren and Marginalized Communities

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], June 30: Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of targeting leaders who advocate for marginalized communities. This statement came after the release of Hemant Soren, a leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), from jail.

Champai Soren’s Accusations

Champai Soren claimed that Hemant Soren, who speaks for the poor, Dalits, and Adivasis, was jailed by those who have exploited Jharkhand for years. He stated, “People who speak about Dalits or Adivasis here will never be allowed to live in peace by those people (BJP).”

Hemant Soren’s Release

On June 28, Hemant Soren was released from Birsa Munda Jail following a bail order from the Jharkhand High Court. He had been facing a probe in an alleged land scam case. Upon his release, Hemant Soren thanked the people of Jharkhand for their support and vowed to continue working for the state.

Hemant Soren’s Statements

After his release, Hemant Soren spoke to reporters, emphasizing the courage of the people of Jharkhand. He said, “Jharkhand is a land of courageous people. Many will try to scare us, but that is momentary, and we don’t need to be scared.” He also criticized the BJP for allegedly imprisoning opposition leaders on false charges and expressed his commitment to fighting for the rights of marginalized communities.
