Bokaro (Jharkhand) [India], September 26: Amar Kumar Bauri, the Leader of Opposition in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly and a BJP leader, has criticized Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his comments on the RSS. Soren had referred to RSS workers as ‘chooha’ (rats) and accused them of trying to break society.

Amar Kumar Bauri expressed regret over Soren’s remarks, stating, “It is a matter of regret that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is endangering the identity of his ancestors, descendants, and tribal society for appeasement and vote bank politics. Hemant Soren is not able to see Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state but is banning RSS in the state. How low will you stoop due to vote bank politics? You must listen to the voice of your conscience.”

These comments came after Soren addressed a rally on September 25 in Jharkhand, where he said that RSS members would enter Jharkhand like ‘chooha’ (rats) and disrupt society. Soren also criticized the Assam Chief Minister for speaking against Jharkhand’s people and government.

Shehzad Poonawalla, another BJP leader, also attacked Soren for his remarks, saying, “Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren calls nationalists and people elected by the public ‘chooha’. But he doesn’t say anything about the Bangladeshi infiltrators who enter Santhal Pargana and encroach on land, because this pertains to his vote bank.”

Poonawalla further added, “He said that no demographic change has occurred in Jharkhand, it has happened in West Bengal. Who has had governments in West Bengal? Not BJP. Left, followed by the TMC. So, he has accepted that there has been a demographic change in West Bengal, which was ruled by the Left as well as Mamata Banerjee.”

Reacting to Soren’s statement, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said, “A Chief Minister will have his own experience for the state, I don’t know in what context he said this but he did not name anyone. He did not say anything to the organisation…only he can tell what he meant. I can only say that the way the Chief Minister was sent to jail, the way he was cornered, the way an attempt was made to weaken the organisation there, it is only the modus operandi of the RSS.”
