Jewellery Robbery in Haridwar: One Gang Member Killed, Two Arrested
A gang member involved in a jewellery robbery in Haridwar was killed in an encounter with Uttarakhand police, while two other members were arrested, and jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh was recovered.
Details of the Robbery
The robbery occurred on September 1 at Shri Balaji Jewellers in the Jwalapur area of Haridwar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed a swift investigation into the incident.
Police Encounter
On the night of September 15, police were checking suspicious persons and vehicles at BHEL Tiraha, Bahadarabad. They tried to stop a motorcycle without a number plate carrying two people, both with their faces covered. The pillion rider opened fire on the police, and the suspects fled towards the forest. The police retaliated in self-defence, injuring one suspect, who was later declared dead at the district hospital. He was identified as Satendra Pal, alias Lucky, a resident of Muktsar, Punjab.

On September 16, Haridwar Jwalapur police arrested two more suspects involved in the robbery.
