Jessica Pegula Wins Berlin Ladies Open, Anna Kalinskaya and Yulia Putintseva Climb WTA Rankings

Jessica Pegula won the WTA 500 championship in Berlin, defeating Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals and Anna Kalinskaya in the final. Pegula saved five match points to secure her victory. Yulia Putintseva won the Birmingham Classic, a WTA 250-level event, by defeating Ajla Tomljanovic. This was Putintseva’s first grass title and her third singles title overall.

Anna Kalinskaya climbed seven places in the WTA rankings, moving from No. 24 to No. 17, entering the Top 20 for the first time. Yulia Putintseva also moved up seven ranks, from 41st to 34th, after accumulating 220 points. This is her highest ranking since July 2022.

Ajla Tomljanovic, who recently returned from surgery, reached her sixth career final and first on grass. She jumped 55 spots in the rankings. Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek continues to dominate women’s tennis, sitting at the top of the rankings with 11695 points.
