JD(U) Leaders, Including Nitish Kumar, to Meet PM Modi for Bihar’s Special Status

JD(U) leader Ashok Chaudhary announced that party leaders, including Nitish Kumar, Sanjay Jha, and Lallan Singh, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand special status and a special package for Bihar. The demand stems from Bihar’s economic and social challenges.

The JD(U) also called for strict action against irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exams. The NEET-UG 2024 Examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024, saw over 23 lakh candidates appear, with 67 achieving a perfect score, leading to widespread protests. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a criminal case and formed special teams to investigate.

A National Executive meeting of JD(U) appointed Sanjay Jha as the working president and passed a resolution for Bihar’s special status. The meeting was attended by party chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Lallan Singh, and Sanjay Jha among others.
