Jayant Patil Denies Meeting Sachin Waze Amid Allegations
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 3: NCP (SCP) leader Jayant Patil has denied allegations made by Sachin Waze, a dismissed Mumbai Assistant Police Inspector, who claimed that Patil and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh were involved in a bribery scheme. Waze stated that he had submitted evidence to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Patil responded at a press conference, expressing suspicion of a conspiracy to defame the opposition. He questioned the credibility of Waze, who has been in jail for 1.5 years and faces serious charges. Patil said, “I don’t remember ever meeting Sachin Waze.”
NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole also commented on the timing and nature of the allegations. Patole suggested that the matter would be investigated if the Maha Vikas Aghadi forms the government.
Sachin Waze is also accused in the 2021 Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiren murder case. The CBI had previously registered a corruption case against Anil Deshmukh, who was arrested and later secured bail. Waze was arrested by the NIA in March 2021 for allegedly placing an explosive-laden vehicle near Mukesh Ambani’s house.
